Son of Ethel Stainbank, of Coedmore, Bellair, Natal, South Africa, and the late Dering Lee Warner Stainbank. Served in the German West African War; at the conclusion he came to England and was gazetted to R.F.A. His brother William Dering Stainbank also fell.
