Order of the Osmanieh, 4th Cl. (Turkey). Son of the late Gen. John McNeill Walter, C B., and Claudine Walter; husband of Kate Agnes Walter, of 12, Clifton Mansions, Folkestone, Kent. Commanded 9th Soudanese Bn. Egyptian Army, in the Dongola and Nile Expeditions (twice Mentioned in Despatches) including the battles of Firket, Atbara (wounded) and Omdurman; served in the South African War, severely wounded at Spion Kop (Mentioned in Despatches).
