Third son of John Clay Lucas and Caroline Agnes Lucas, of Castle Precincts, Lewes, Sussex. Educated at The King's School, Canterbury. Went to Australia in Jan., 1912, and enlisted in the 3rd Australian Light Horse in Aug., 1914. Gazetted to R.F.A. in June, 1915. Also served in Egypt and France.
