Son of Charles and Edith Russel Rendle. Born at Plymouth. Served in O.T.C. Blundell's School, Tiverton, New Zealand Expeditionary Force at Gallipoli (2nd Bn. Canterbury Regt.), and in France, 1916: was recommended from there for a commission in Imperial Army.
