Only son of Thomas Rhys Davies and Mag Hopkins Davies, of The Tonn, Llanon, Cardiganshire, now of Bryn Derwen, Llangadock, Carmarthenshire. Educated at the Bristol and Aberystwyth Universities. Served for a time as a Certificated Teacher. Passed the Inter B.A. (London) and was preparing to sit for his degree in Sept., but joined May, 1915.
