John was previously a career Soldier and by all accounts a bit of a lad. Died bravely at Festubert 1915 and was my Grandfathers uncle. RIP

RIP. Served in the South Lancs and Wiltshire Regts prior to WW1 and were in the South Africa campaign at Slabberts Nek. A brave man.
