Arthur, the story of your war service is recounted in the publication "Stories from the Great War" published by the Nuneaton and North Warwickshire Family History Society. It is not certain where you lost your life, but the main fighting at the time you died was in the Battle of Neuve Chapelle. On the morning of the 10th March the village of Neuve Chappelle was in British hands after a tremendous artillery bombardment. It is a shame that your remains were never recovered from the field of battle. Arthur, it only remains for me to add my own tribute to the memory of a brave soldier who died doing his duty for King and Country. Sincere sympathy to your widow and other members of your family who mourned your loss. Rest in Peace. Harry.
