I purchased the Centenary Poppy from the RBL and found this young man's name was on the accompanying certificate.  AB Alfred Henry Green was serving on board HMS Tipperary when she was engaged by ships of the German High Seas Fleet on the night of 31 May 1916 and was abandoned in the early hours of 01 June.  150 of her compliment were killed/lost.  Alfred was 19 years of age and from Croydon.  His name is listed on the Portsmouth Naval War Memorial.  The image is taken from the website "A Street Near You".
