Probably one of the many lost from any of the following ships; HMS Aboukir, HMS Hogue and HMS Cressy who where part of the Cressy Class armoured cruisers of Cruise Force Cwho were used to patrol the North Sea in the area known as the Broad Fourteens. These 3 ships were attacked in the early hours of 21st September 1914 by Submarine U9 and with the last torpedo sunk HMS Cressy the last of the cruisers, after having sunk HMS Aboukir and HMS Hogue earlier.
