Son of the late William Baker who died 25th July 1897 aged 63 and Rose Phillips and George Phillips his stepfather.

Albert had one paternal sister Ada and one stepbrother George and two stepsisters Rose and Alice.

In 1911 he was living at 21 Occupation Road Cambridge with his sister and step family. His stepfather was a General Labourer
