There is also enclosed a letter from the Matron of No 11 General Hospital Boulogne, of which she states ‘your son wished me to write and tell you how he was getting on. He is still pretty bad, but I hope before long he will begin to improve. He does not; I think suffer a great deal of pain. Everything is being done for him that can be done and will do our best to get him better.
This morning the late notification has been received that Pte G D Salmon of the C Company Cambridgeshire Regiment, died on Monday as a result of wounds received in going up to the reserve trenches.
