James had five sisters Elizabeth, Emily, Agnes, Mary and Ada

In 1911 William was working as a Field Labourer

Pte Knighton received the British War and Victory Medal

He died of Sarcoma of the Liver at Hoole House, Hoole, Chester in the district of Chester Cathedral

Pte James William Knighton is remembered with Honour at Whittlesey Cemetery
