Sidney is a well respected member of my family, no matter how distant he is. He is my 3rd cousin, 5 times removed. I stumbled across his grave having searched through memorials during my GCSE history trip. Finding Sidney has opened up a world of history I never would have acknowledged, were it not for this, I don't think my interest in genealogy would be as prominent.  Photographed is Sidney, circa 1911, member of the Gordon Boys Brigade in Cheltenham. I love this photograph, he looks dissatisfied for sure! We must thank Sidney for the work he had done during the war; he enlisted in 1914, when he was only 19 and saw everything that had occured prior to the battle of Pozieres. We have great respect for you sir! Thank you for everything you had done to shape our world. Without your contribution, I'm not sure if your battalion would have worked as well. We love you Sidney X
