I recall my Great Grandmother telling us of the day my uncle David left, looking resplendent in his Army uniform he waved on the c**** side and walked away never looking back. That was the last time she or the family were to ever see David. Sadly I believe his body has never been found but he is commemorated with his band of brothers on Thiepval Memorial. His name will live on forever more.
