Herbert Arthur ****ick is the grandfather of Diane and Susan ****ick, he had one son our father we are the only grand children. Our grandmother never forgave the Germans for the death of her husband whilst a Prisoner of War in Germany and this bitterness made her a very unhappy woman to live with as we had to for sometime in our childhood. Grans sister in law also lost her husband but moved on in life and remarried We know very little of our grandfather since this was not a subject of discussion whilst she was alive, in fact, the subject was virtually forbidden. We very much wish that we had known our grandfather and feel that his death tore the family apart.
