Ernest Dove was the son of John and Eliza of 48 Alfred Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted at Mansfield on 7th June 1916 and was called up on 23rd September, prior to which he worked as a cottons patent hand. He was killed in action near Bullay Grenay and was only 19 years of age.
