Our grandparents had both died leaving 5 living children. Thomas was the eldest and must have been a mainstay of the family, even after he married. in 1912. My father and his younger brother had been placed in an orphanage. My father was 14 when Tommy was killed and this must have been another terrible blow for him. We would love to know more about the circumstances of Tommy's death but for now we want to mark his loss on behalf of our late father and all the family, known and unknown.
