Robert Chaffey Keneston was the son of Robert Chaffey Keneston a former Royal Marine who died in London in 1900 a year before Robert was born.  Robert was their youngest child.  Sadly his mother also died in 1905 when Robert was just 4 leaving him and his elder siblings orphans.  In 1911 he was living with his late mother’s sister. Robert was only 16 years old when he died in 1917 whilst serving as a Deck Boy in the Mercantile Marine, his grave is the sea.   ‘God Bless you Lad and sleep tight xxx
