1st Class Constable 403, Henry Maitland Webster. Henry was born in Parwich, Derbyshire, and trained as a Sawyer48 before joining the Grenadier Guards. On March 13th 1911, at the age of 26, the single man was appointed a Constable in the County Police49 and was sent to Castleton where he stayed for 5 months before transferring to Dronfield. In 1913 whilst on an escort duty to Derby Gaol he was in trouble for losing his prisoners property. He was cautioned by the Chief Constable and had to make good the loss to the prisoner. As an Army Reservist he was recalled to the colours on mobilisation on August 4th 1914. He died of wounds received in action on December 8th 1917.
