49443 Lance Corporal William Booth of the 16th Battalion, Manchester Regiment:

 

He enlisted in the army at Denton and he was killed in action on the 27 April 1918. He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium, and on Denton War Memorial.

 

He married Martha Knowles at Christ Church, Denton, in 1910. After the war his death was reported to enumerators from Denton Urban District Council by someone, possibly his widow, resident on Jane Street.
