Thomas John Homer was born in 1891 in Okeford Fitzpaine, Dorset. His parents were William and Amelia Homer (nee Hardy). He had six siblings, tow of whom died in infancy, and another brother died in 1914 at the agre of 14.

Thomas joined the Dorsetshire Regiment and was killed on the 28th January 1915 at Gallipoli. He has no known grave and is commemorated at the Helles Memorial.
