Reginald was the youngest of 13 children, 8 girls and five boys, born to Emma and Amos Payne. Born in Redgrave on the 2nd of May 1888 he died somewhere near Ypres on the 30/04/1916. Of the nine children (four boys and five girls) who survived infancy Reginald was the only one of the brothers who served in the First World War.
