I think this "A. Taylor" is Archibald Taylor, died 18/04/18, on the list of deaths in the Seaforth Highlanders (ref National Records of Scotland, 128/AF/ 265). His age in that document is given as "27", though here it is currently "unknown". I think this Archibald was married to my aunt's mother. An Archibald Taylor, farm servant married 1st June 1915 in Rothes to Charlotte Grubb, domestic servant. They were both been living in Dufftown. His age was given as 23 and his parents named as James Taylor (ploughman) and Annie Grant. A birth certificate for Archibald Taylor in Boharm to parents James Taylor (ploughman) and Ann Grant (themselves married on 8th Dec 1876 in Mortlach, Dufftown) is dated 6th Sep 1892. Assuming this is the right person, Archie therefore died aged 25 years old. Archibald and Charlotte had one son, also Archie, born on 17/4/1916, who was himself killed in action, in Italy in on 10th Jan 1944. He is commemorated at the Cassino memorial, SE of Rome. He served in the 1st Battalion of the (London Scottish) Gordon Highlanders.
