52441 Private Harry Taylor of the 1st Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers:

 

He was killed in action on the 6 March 1917, aged 36 years, and he is buried in Couin New British Cemetery, France.

 

Harry Taylor was born at Oldham, Lancashire, in 1881/82 to John A & A Taylor. He married Ellen Waterhouse at the Wesleyan Chapel on Greenacres Road, Oldham, in 1907. In 1911 he was resident with his wife and son, John Walker (b. at Ashton-under-Lyne, 1908), on Newmarket Road, Waterloo, Ashton-under-Lyne, employed as a forwarding clerk for a belting manufacturer. Later his widow was resident on Ashton Road, Denton.
