Private Samuel Dixon, 9th Battalion, Nothumberland Fusiliers. He was killed in action in France on 5th July 1916, aged 30, during the Battle of the Somme. He was the brother of Mrs Heston of 18 Lees Lane, Tweedmouth, Berwick upon Tweed,and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France
