Extract from Frank Willey's letter 23 May 1915 "No one seems to have been with Frank Matthews when he was killed, so whether it was shot or shell no one knows.  He had got separated from Edwin and Dick Bevan, whom he left our trench with.  Mr Bonn had his identity disc brought to him with others, and that is all we know of him."
