I do not know Leonard Victor Roots but my grandfather was Charles Roots and he went over the top in the Battle of Cambrai in 1917. He was born in Bethnal Green and his wife, my grandma, was born in Shoreditch- so I felt I ought to honour Leonard Victor Roots- felt so sorry for him as he has no family mentioned in your transcript- and he was only 30.
