This was my Grandfather, who died when his son,my Father, was 11 months old.He is buried in the CWG Cemetery at Etaple sur Mer,France. His son served in the RAF in WWII,and survived three and a half years as a POW in Hiroshima,Japan. He lived until July 2010 when he was 93. I have been lucky in that I am the first male in the line not to have to go to war.My Grandmother,Adeline, remarried ,and went on to have 4 more children. She died in 1959.One of these children,my Aunt Beryl, married my Mother's Father, following the death of Mum's Mother after the outbreak of WWII. I have visited my Grandfather's grave, and was absolutely awestruck by the numbers interred there.Very emotional experience. Thanks to all at the CWGC for the way the cemeteries are maintained. None of those who fell should ever be forgotten. It must never be allowed to happen again.
