Harry Hardman was the younger brother of my Grandfather Walter - Harry was a regular soldier before the outbreak of war serving with the Lancashire Fusiliers, having joined at the age of 16 in 1911.  He saw service in India.  He joined the 1st Battalion Scots Gaurds in Feb 2016 and served in France and Flanders. He was killed in action on the 10th Oct 1917 at Ypres during the third battle for Ypres.  He was never forgotten by his brother Walter and his surrogate parents Robert and Mary were devasted by his passing ( they’d also lost Ernest at the same battle on th 28 Sept 1917). He remains ever remembered by the family for the sacrifice he made.
