George, known as Herbert, was my Grandad's (William Triggs) cousin. George was a good singer and soloist in St. Mark's Church in Birkenhead. Called up at the outbreak of war. He served in the Gallipoli campaign, then after a short leave was sent to France, where he was killed shortly afterwards.
