My wife and I visited the WW1 battlefields a couple of years ago and made an emotional trip to the Arras memorial where Great Uncle Jack's sacrifice is commemorated, he has no known grave. To the best of my knowledge he was killed in an attack, by the 10th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, on a heavily fortified town position at Roeux and it's chemical works. Losses were high, 420 killed, missing or wounded. We hope to visit the area in April 2017.
