Sgt, 1st/4th Battalion, The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Military Medal and Bar. Son of Mr. Edward and Mrs. Isabella Catherine (nee Swarbrick) Parkinson, of 34 East Cliffe, Lytham, Lancs. Awarded the Military Medal and Bar. Killed in Action. Age: 22. Killed during the 55th (West Lancashire) Division's  pursuit to Mons, a phase of the Final Advance in Artois (2 October – 11 November) in which the Division occupied La Bassee (2 October), crossed the Haute Deule Canal (14-16 October) and captured Ath (11 November). The Division had advanced 50 miles in 80 days.
