Edward was christened Arthur Edward Leonard, he was my Nan's cousin. He was born in Abberton/Langenhoe near Colchester in Essex. He was only twenty two when he died in the Affair at Nery on the 1st September 1914, along with a host of other men of all ages he sacrificed his life for our freedom. Edward was the third man recorded as fallen on the Abberton Roll of Honour.
