My grandfather James King Tough was born at 11 Main Street, Newhaven, North Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland on 14th March 1890. His parents were Ogilvie Tough who married Sarah Jane Cairns James became a coal miner and married Mary Wylie Walker on 24th June 1910 at Chryston, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Ogilvie, his first son was born later that year named after his own father. My father, John Walker Tough and his twin sister Mary born at the start of World War One in 1918. Joining the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) 10th Bn. he went to war. James died of his wounds on 3rd August 1918, not long before the end of the war. He was 28 years of age. James King Tough is was laid to rest at ST. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN Although I never got to know you, you are in my thoughts. Rest in peace.
