Peter Johnstone was killed on May 16th 1917, on the outskirts of The Chemical Works, Roeux. He was one of 87 casualties that the 6th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders sustained that night. There is a very detailed account of the action within the Regimental War Diary, allowing me to more closely pin-point his approximate location when killed. Peter left behind a wife, son (my grand-father, also called Peter) and a daughter. He was a very successful Footballer, playing for Celtic FC.
