38220 Private Fred (Worthington) Lowe of the 1/5th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry (Prince Albert’s):

 

He died on the 7 December 1918, aged 27 years and he is buried in the Cairo War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.

 

Fred (Worthington) Lowe was born at Denton in 1891 and he is the son of John Worthington and Sarah Elizabeth Lowe who were married at Ashton-under-Lyne in 1894. In 1911 he was resident with his parents and siblings on Highfield Street, Denton, employed in the hatting industry. A later residence was on Catherine Street.
