Whoever coined the phrase " if I don't remember him, who will" rings true here. I know nothing of this brave man, whether he has any living relatives or not. He could be related, my family came from the North End area of Portsmouth and he was buried in Shotley, where I joined the Navy myself in 1968. Every Single person who gave their lives for us to live ours MUST be remembered. I'm remembering this brave man, who are you remembering?? Henry George Carpenter.
