This is my Great Grandfather who gave his life for what he believed in. George died at Hooge and was never found after the battle. He was blown apart by shell fire. I still visit the place where George died as I feel he is still there. Know one from my family has ever gone to find George, so I'm very proud to be the first. It's very sad my Grandmother never knew what happened to her father but his memory lives on with me. RIP George Furnell, you'll never be forgotten.
