Charles Alister Nicholson was born in Coventry in 1900,the eldest son of Alister & Annie Nicholson & brother to Alexander,Maria,Ellen & Annie (my maternal Grandmother). According to the 1911 census the family were living at 52, High Street, Weedon Bec, Northants & on enlisting Charles was posted in the Royal Warwickshire 2/7th battalion service number 267371. He was sadly killed in action just ten days before the Armistice at the tender age of 18 years old & is interred at the south east end of Maresches Communal cemetery in northern France.
