Ernest Waters was in the 1/8th Manchesters (Ardwick). He served in Malta, Egypt, Gollipolli & France. He was killed in action on the 30/08/1918, 3kms SE of Bapaume (Reincourt-Les-Bapaume).He is laid to rest at the "Manchester Cemetry" on the Bapaume to Peronne road (RN17). He was Husband of Gertrude & Father to Jimmy, Gracie & Sarah (my mother). They lived at 30 Laverton Place, Manchester. I would have loved to have met and known you grandad, one day we shall have the time. R.I.P
