Born in Bisley on 23rd January 1897, the son of Thomas & Christina. A gardener prior to enlisting, he joined the Royal Marine Light Infantry in June 1915, & was later wounded at Gallipoli. Transferring to the Western Front, he was again wounded in June 1916. He died due to influenza & pneumonia in Scotland, & his body was brought back to Bisley for interment in the churchyard. He is also commemorated on the village War Memorial.
