Frederick Abraham was born on the 4th July 1886 at Soesdyke, Demerara, British Guiana. He was the only son in 5 children.

He was a cricketer, playing 10 first class matches for British Guiana between 1904 and 1912.

According to a letter that was written to his family by Lt Colonel Smith of the 16th Lancs Fusiliers Frederick was killed in action just south of Joncourt, Ramicourt Roads. The battalion was attacking Ramicourt and Frederick was in command of the left front company (D). They were checked by machine gun fire and Frederick was trying to get a Lewis gun into position to return fire when he was shot.
