Captain John Harbord served in Gallipoli, Egypt, Palestine and France. John Harbord was awarded the Military Medal with this citation:
"Capt John HARBORD, Yeo
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during an attack. He showed great courage and determination while leading his company in face of heavy fire, over difficult country. He shot three of the enemy and took an officer and three men prisoner" He died on 10th July 1918 of wounds received near Nieppe Forest on 6th July, 1918. He is buried in Les Baraques Military Cemetery, Sangatte, Pas de Calais, France.
