John Joseph May was the son of John and Henrietta May who lived at Coombe Farm, Frilsham. He died in 24th October 1916 aged 23. He probably died of wounds as he is buried near Couin Chateaux which was behind the lines and was used as a hospital His younger brother William Albert May died in 1918 aged 23 Thanks to Martin Neal of Frilsham who researched and wrote the original piece
