Alfred Charles Henry Manning was my Great Uncle, born in Torquay, Devon in 1897 and died in Ypres on 10 August 1917. His name is commemorated on Panel 21 on the Menin Gate Memorial. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
