George William Mountney was born Breadsall, Derbyshire. Assistant School Master Kingscliffe. Previously at Weldon. Had been awarded a Parchment Certificate for Devotion to Duty. He attended St Peter's Training College Peterborough and is commemorated - Peterborough Cathedral, St Peter's Training College War Memorial. He was my Grandmother's older Brother (she died when I was a baby), but members of my family say she never got over the loss of her brother and treasured his possessions until she died. I hope in some small way I am paying my respects to the fallen of the First World War and I am keeping memories alive on behalf of previous generations..
