Sgt Joseph p Bennison died aged 28 4 days after arriving in France and Ypres on 25th April 2016 .He died with 10 other men in his trench that day. In Durham Lt Infantry reserves , a miner but became a machine gun trainer . A crack shot, regimental prize winner,part of the later wave of married men, he had 3 children since marrying Georgina Whitfield in 1908. He was also one of the most efficient members of the Saint John's Ambulance Brigade . One of 4 brothers who went to war in th D L I he was the only one to loose his life .
