Both George and Jack his brother joined the RWF in 1914 when he was just 20. They both served through the war but sadly George was killed in action in March 1918. George was the eldest of 11 children, a miner from a small village called Southsea in Wrexham, George lies at peace in Dernencourt Cemetary near Albert. He is remembered by all his family - most of whom never knew him but know that he gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure freedom.
