As far as I am aware, Mikey joined up in November 1914 registering in Co. Tipperary and was my late father's uncle. Mikey had a brother James who was my Great Grandfather and a Sister Kate. My dad's brother who now lives in Dublin has Mikey's medals and my father was named after Mikey when he was born in 1931. As a family his memory and sacrifice has always been remembered but it is only recently that I have been able to track down his war grave.
