Private Joseph William Woodfin and his family lived in Birkenhead not far from where my Grandfather and Grandmother lived that is Ellesmere and Ellesmere Port respectively. My grandfather also fought in WW1 and was driving a lorry with wounded soldiers in, it hit a mine and got blown up but he survived and died in 1966 from gangrene from the shrapnel left in his body. They could have well been related. This means a lot to me as a Woodfin. He will now be remembered by me from now on.
